2015 Resolutions

I have to be honest- I'm terrible at New Year's resolutions.

No. Seriously. I'm so bad at it that my 2014 resolution was- "Turn a year older". Literally.

Fortunately, I had many memorable experiences in 2014 that truly changed my life and the way I see myself. This year I am determined to make it count- on purpose. Granted, I probably won't achieve everything on my list but it's worth a shot.

Admittedly, I've been working on my resolutions for the last month (hence the late publication) but I think I've narrowed it down to a pretty good list. Take a look :) These are in no particular order.

S.B.'s 2015 Resolutions

  • Read 20 'Good' Books - Slowly.
    • This may seem a bit bizzare, but I've grown so accustomed to skimming textbooks that I'm sorry to say I usually end up skimming recreational reading books if I ever actually sit down and read one. I want to take my time in reading these books-meaning no skimming-. I'll be posting later on what my 'Good Book' choices are.
  •   Get Into the 'Naturally Beautiful' Routine
    • I'm quite comfortable in my own skin however I find myself often 'abusing' certain aspects of my body. Mainly not using face moisturizer/sunscreen, not conditioning my hair, blow drying the life out of my hair, waiting half a year before getting my hair trimmed, not using gloves/lotion when washing dishes, etc. Trivial things but it makes my skin/hair terribly unhappy and I end up with not-so-good looking days more often than not. Problem is, there is much stuff out on the shelf at the drugstore has 1,001 chemicals I can't even pronounce and (being blessed with terribly sensitive-oily-ane-prone skin) has made the usual trial-and-error routine pretty horrendous. Yet I've had some great discoveries :) which of course I'll share...later.
  • Blog Post at Least Two Times a Month
    • As you can see, I've been really terrible at this as well. On a positive note, I've learned some time management skills I plan to put into practice and will be incorporating my 'media duties' in it. I have about 4 blogs right now, each with it's own function, and I've yet to update A.B.'s blog (shame on me -.-;) But it will mostly be between SugarCubeSundae, AmigiCherie, and BarquenGirl. Again, later on I'll post the blog distinctions and my reasons for having so many. Possibly too many
  •  Get Straight A's (please!)
    • It's a long shot. Ok. A really long shot but I've got to try. My GPA is at a 3.0-3.1 and I must have it above a 3.5 at least for transfer purposes. My transcript is a mess and I am dead set on doing some damage-control this year!!
  •  Create 4 Pieces of Artwork
    • Doesn't seems so bad, right? Then again I don't mean spur of the moment drawings and such. I mean planned, thought out art pieces. I love art - it's not my main academic focus but it's something I want to continuously pursue. Usually, I just do assigned art projects from class and meaningless drawings here an there but this will hopefully be the beginning of a personal portfolio.
  •  Create a Collection of Collections
    • ~Hello, my name is Stephanie and I am a tutorial addict~ it's true. I learn to make things and I want to make more but...I don't. By creating a collection of collections it'll help me to be more creative and fine tune my newfound skills. It will probably consist mostly of amigurumi plushies and fabric dolls which will ultimately be donated- still, it's about the journey not the destination!
  • For God's sake -Write Better!
    • My penmanship is...in need of some attention...hehe.
  • Organize Everything
    • Although I did some pretty substantial organizing in 2014- it's simply not enough. Especially when it comes to my yarn and craft supply.
  • Journal! Journal! Journal!
    • ...at least once a week...maybe? Art and/or writing. Course with journaling comes journal prompts I'll be posting as well :)
  •  Create new (routine) designs for AmigiCherie & SugarCubeSundae and Bring them to Life!
    • What I mean by routine designs is to set aside some time to create new designs in my schedule. I've had designs sitting in my sketchbook for almost two years that I haven't gotten around too. Bring them to 'life' often gets pushed back...back...way back.
  •  Get Ready for Christmas!
    • This may seem weird but Christmas is a big deal! I get a surge of orders and on top of that family traditions, etc. How will I achieve this?...I don't know....ahh!
  • Send a manuscript or at least write a Story
    • I'm always starting stories but I eventually stop because it seems pointless if no one reads them. Course, I totally expect it to get rejected but at least I can say I did it :) er...well will do it.
  • Finish Designing My Blogs
    • I'm always making design changes but I want to stop, haha. It's time to have a set design, hopefully it won't take ALL year :/
  • Turn SugarCubeSundae & AmigiCheriePatterns @ Etsy into self-sustaining businesses.
    • Pretty much self-explanatory!
This is pretty much it, though I may be missing a few things- there's a couple of other less meaningful things (like floss more!- I strongly dislike flossing... ) but this is the BIG stuff that I'll be documenting my progress on. Yes, I am taking this year very seriously!

What do you think? What are your resolutions and why? Have a blog post to share on resolutions? Post them in comments :) I'd love to read them!
